A Milestone for European Race Formats

European Running Championships 2025

The inaugural European Running Championships took place on April 12–13, 2025, in Brussels and Leuven, Belgium — a milestone event that brought together elite competitors and recreational runners alike. With European titles awarded in the marathon, half-marathon, and 10 km distances, and over 28,000 participants, the event drew strong interest as the first of its kind on the continent.

What set this championship apart was its unique format: professional athletes raced shoulder to shoulder with amateurs, united by a shared pursuit of personal achievement and national pride. Team rankings were determined by the aggregated times of the top 25 finishers per country, underscoring the collective spirit of the event.

For RACE RESULT, the championship marked the launch of an exciting new chapter in collaboration. Sports  company Golazo, the driving force behind the European Running Championships, has extended its partnership with RACE RESULT starting in 2025. Chronorace, a subsidiary of Golazo, now fully relies on RACE RESULT technology to time the races, streamlining race day processes, improving event logistics, and enhancing the athlete experience.
