Wi-Fi Bridge Set

The Wi-Fi Bridge Set can be used to connect the race|result System to a Wi-Fi network. The bridge will be connected to the Ethernet port and powered through the Feature Port. Note: powering the Wi-Fi Bridge Set via the feature port reduces the battery run time by approximately 1 hour.

Ensure that

  1. The WiFi Network you are using at your event is active and in range.
  2. The WiFi bridge is turned on.
  3. The WiFi on your laptop is turned on and the Ethernet adapter is set to automatic IP assignment (also known as DHCP).
  4. An ethernet cable is directly connected from the WiFi bridge to your laptop.

Your computer has now been assigned with a temporary IP in the 192.168.1.xxx range.
To configure the WiFi-Bridge do the following:

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to: http://tplinkap.net
  2. Login with: User name: admin, Password: admin
  3. The „quick setup“ page will be displayed. Click „Next“.
  4. If needed, the login credentials can be changed here (recommended). Click „Next“.
  5. Select „Client“. Click „Next“.
  6. Select the desired network, click „Connect“.
  7. If needed, enter the WiFi password and Click „Next“.
  8. The WiFi bridge itself needs an IP in your network. This will normally be assigned automatically when connecting via DHCP. If you do not have DHCP on, or if you want the WiFi bridge to operate on a specific IP, you need to configure the IP in the settings as well.
  9. After the successful configuration connect the WiFi bridge to your race|result System. The connection to your laptop is no longer required.

The WiFi bridge now has an IP in your network.
All devices connected to it will automatically be assigned an IP by your network if you are using DHCP. If you work with static IPs, you need to set the IPs (e. g. of the race|result System) manually.
